Pastoral care in a church context can mean many things to many people, so it’s good to try and explain what we mean…..
Pastoral care – Helping to preserve the well-being of people, spiritually, emotionally and socially. It includes expressing God’s love and care through prayer and other practical action to those who are in need, as well as giving support and encouragement through times of change, disappointments, concerns, upset, bereavement and sometimes the crises of life e.g. Separation, divorce, redundancy etc
This is something every church member should be involved in at one level or another, but at Hope we have also set aside gifted and called people to be on the Pastoral care Team. They are available to help, support, listen, guide….because we know God loves each person, and we want to too!
